Getting a little Nippy

Well, here it is, still a week to go before the start of Winter. Right now it's 4 degrees, with a high expected of 17 degrees today. Then, during the day, they are calling for some snow flurries along with 1/4- 1/2 inch of ice/sleet!
I've got 4 wheel drive so the snow don't bother me....but, if we get the ice..... I'm just gonna burrow down in my "mancave" and wait it out. Got plenty of coffee and Pepsi so I'm ready for it!

  1. How about a big crockpot of chili or beef stew, Dave; man does not live on coffee and Pepsi alone...

As I write this, central Iowa is waitig for the arrival of another round of cold white stuff after dodging that bullet several times. I was careful not to get smug when other parts of the country were getting hammered by winter storms. Our turn was coming and a couple days ago it hit; the 50-mile-an-hour wind absolutely howled and how we managed to keep our electricity was nothing short of miraculous.

I hope you and your family and neighbors stay safe during the coming winter; heard it could be a pretty rough one.

I'm sending best wishes for a happy, peaceful, warm Christmas for you guys!

  2. We had our first snow 2 days ago, and now the prediction is more tomorrow and then even more on Sat. and Sunday. I love it coming down but don't want any ice, just like you say. Tomorrow I'm going to stock up on food for my 2 cats, make sure I have enough stuff to make lots of homemade soup, and then some great junk food. What's good about being snowed in without junk food, right? I can taste that chili cheese dip now :D
Hey, if you get snow/iced in, think of all the blogging you can do! Lol, just kiddin' hahahaha.
Oh, and Dave, glad everyone's happy and sassy over there. Thanks for leaving the message :)

  6. It's Wednesday night, almost 10pm, and the little weather warning thing is running at the bottom of the tv now and so are all the closings already planned. We are to get about a half a foot of snow tomorrow, plus a smidgen of ice and then more this weekend. I guess we're right on track with you as I see it's going through your area now. Good grief. Glad I stocked up on goodies today ;)

  7. Omg, I forgot the makings for the chili cheese dip. I wonder what time the store opens in the morning. If I don't get to the store for that, then I'm stuck with just 'good for ya' stuff. Ohhhh woe is meeeee.
